DSC01038aBen had a great first and second week of school! The first week he came home with a note from his primary teacher letting us know how impressed she was with his manners. And this past week he brought home a note from his music teacher who was thrilled by his participation and enthusiasm in her class. Yay. Go, Ben!

And we signed Ben up for Cub Scouts and made it to a couple of meetings. We haven’t had a chance to make it into SA to the Scout Store to purchase his uniform and Tiger Cub welcome book, so we’re feeling a little behind and out of the loop. But I’m still very excited about what’s in store for us this year (there will be camping, field trips, and a pinebox derby!).

And we’ve had some fun weekend activities. Ben and I attended his friend Reagan’s birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Cousins Patrick, Karen, and Connor came over for a visit and a dinner out on the town. This morning was the Kendall County Fair parade. And the Cub Scouts had a pool party and bar-b-q this afternoon.

But I guess the biggest excitement was a trip to Austin for the boys. They loaded up the car and left (all dressed in orange) earlier today for the UT game tonight. And I just got the call from Ben that they had the best time. I can only imagine how loud his cheering was during the game. And I can’t wait to see the pics that Papa Larry took!

(And Nathan and I had our 9th wedding anniversary on Thursday. While we were too busy to celebrate, we hope to do something nice soon. And if not, can I line up some babysitters now for next year when we hit the big 10?) ;)
