We got to celebrate Nathan’s birthday last weekend. We took him out to Fralo’s. Everyone loved the pizza, and Evan had a great time dancing to the music.
Curington had a movie night. So Nathan, Ben, and I packed up some comfy seating and headed out for pizza, popcorn, and Space Buddies. The movie was silly, but we still had a great time.
All of the kindergarten classes had a fieldtrip to the zoo on Wednesday. We had a great time walking around with the kids, getting to see the exhibits and the whole new Africa section. We hadn’t been in a couple of years!
Yesterday we had a kid-less day. We made a trip up to Austin for a Dream Dinners session and for a lunch and great visit with Myk and Jenny. Then we headed to the Boerne Education Foundation’s gala. Lots of great food and music. And our donation for the auction did well.
And today was a soccer game. The kids did great (and won by quite a few goals). A couple of our boys scored a ton between the two of them. And we really saw Ben is making some great defense moves and is really showing good control over the direction of his kicking (he made some really great plays). Go Ben!

What a beautiful day yesterday was for our Easter celebration (and Grandpa Marvin’s 80th birthday party)!
We made the trip down to my uncle’s house in Freer, arriving just in time for the food. We ate up some great bbq and birthday cake, and then the kids got busy with activities…
The oldest cousins (Brandon, Hondo, and Ben) changed into swim trunks and jumped into the pool. There was lots of splashing, sliding, and cannon ball attemps for a good couple of hours. Then they moved on to the trampoline, managing not to break any bones. And last, but certainly not least, the Easter bunny arrived, deliving all of the eggs. The kids made a mad dash for probably a good hundred of them stuffed with candy, the special golden egg with money, and eight dozen cascarones. And then everyone was pelted with the confetti!
What a great day! And now we’re spending Easter Sunday spring cleaning. Woo hoo!
HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Ben and I got to attend Brandon’s birthday party a couple of weeks ago. Josh and Melissa were brave, taking Brandon’s entire 3rd grade class to the movies to watch Monsters vs. Aliens. I was so proud of Ben for fitting right in with those bigger kids and acting like such a big kid himself. They all had a great time!
We took the boys’ Easter portraits with the bunnies. They were both so cute! (And the rabbits were pretty adorable too.)
Ben had another soccer game. And this was a close one! I think we may have lost by one or two goals, but the kids did such a good job. And Ben scored a few points of his own. Woo hoo!
After the soccer game, we headed up to Fort Worth for Larry’s 60th birthday party. We stopped along the way to have a fantastic lunch at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. And Larry and Debbie had a ton of great food for dinner, including a table full of desserts! We all had a wonderful time visiting with family. And the kids were in heaven, getting to race down the hill in the wagon (even some adults got taken for a ride!)
This week I got Ben and Evan to the doctor’s office. Everything went well with Evan’s 9-month visit. He’s still the picture of perfect health; he weighed 28 pounds and 4 ounces; he was 31 inches long; no shots. Whew! And Ben needed his 6-year visit. He also got a huge thumbs up; he was perfectly square (46 pounds, 46 inches); and again, no shots!
And we just had the best morning! We headed to the nature center with a picnic lunch in hand. The weather was perfect! And Ben and Evan had a blast!
