Hooray! Hooray! The flooring install is done! Well, at least the half of the house we wanted to have done before Ben’s birthday party. The rest will have to wait until the summer when we have the time and funds.
Shutter-Happy is BUSY with model sessions for the National Charity Model Search. I’m having so much fun doing this!
We’ve had a blast at playdates with our friends. One was an outing to the Cibolo Nature Center. Paula came up with this great scavenger hunt that led the kids down the trails looking for leaves, shells, rocks, feathers, and several other items. And our other get-together was at the City Park, where the kiddos got to play on the playground and kick around the soccer ball. We are so blessed with such wonderful friends!
And yesterday was a fun-filled day at the San Antonio Stockshow and Rodeo. We got to watch the pig races; Ben got to jump around in the inflatable wonderland and enjoy rides at the carnival; and we all had a blast in the petting zoo. All topped off with a hot and delicious funnel cake, it all made for a fantastic family day!

In the month since my last real article…
Evan and I started attending storytime at the library; Larry, Debbie, and Myk came into town for a weekend visit; and Nathan and I had another Dream Dinners session and have been enjoying lots of great meals.
Then the flooring project started. As I’m sure you’ve read already, we’ve been super busy with that. It’s been so time-consuming and such a pain, but we’re saving thousands of dollars doing it ourselves! We just can’t wait to be finished.
We got to visit with Marli and kiddos one morning; we spent Super Bowl Sunday at my parents’ house; and Ben’s school celebrated the 100th day of classes with a parade.
But I left out something- the Monster Jam! It was all Ben could talk about for a few weeks prior to the event, and apparently the happenings did not dissappoint. Ben had a blast with Nathan, Papa Bobby, and Papa Larry there with him. They went early to see the trucks close up and to meet the drivers. And they stayed late to watch the entire event. Ben was pumped up when they finally got home, and now he can’t wait to have his monster truck birthday party!
