D2X_3222After looking through his baby book a couple of times this week and reading the meaning of his names, Ben has been very interested in what all of our names mean…

Nathan- a gift from God
Edward- wealth protector

Amy- beloved
Beth- my God is bountiful

Benjamin- son of the right hand
Riley- a small stream

Evan- God is gracious
Christopher- one who bears Christ inside

What does your name mean? Your kids’ names?

D2X_3460Kudos! to the man who gets hot when the temperature goes above 75 degrees but will stand out in the heat for an entire afternoon to bar-b-q dinner for his family or an entire backyard party.

Yahoo! to the man who took off from work as many days as I needed to take care of me and Ben while I was so sick while pregnant.

Bravo! to the man who has sacrificed air conditioning in his Blazer for the last couple of years because we just can’t afford to get it fixed or buy him a new vehicle.

Yeah! to the man who daily does the dishes and takes out the trash.

Woo hoo! to the man who has given up sleep and has gotten up with the new baby at every cry to either give a bottle to him or bring him to me to nurse.

To you, my wonderful husband- THANK YOU!!! And Happy Father’s Day!!!

D2X_3266Evan was born on Tuesday, June 10th at 1:47pm. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20.75 inches. He is all filled out, plump and beautiful, and looks exactly like Ben at birth, just with blonde hair instead of black.

We are now home from the hospital, doing great, and are trying to rest a little. :) Pictures are being posted as we get a chance between feeding, sleeping and diapering.

D2X_2320_001Since I wrote on Mother’s Day…

Ben and I were able to attend the last MOPS meeting, where I had such a lucky day. I won two drawings and received- “What Every Mom Needs” and the Mom’s Devotional Bible. Just what I needed! I got to see Evan again at an ultrasound, where measurements revealed he may have already been about 7 pounds and we’re headed down the path to another almost-10-pounder!

Then we made a trip up to Ft. Worth to spend the weekend with Larry and Debbie. Ben enjoyed his usual playing in the yard and zooming down the driveway in the wagon, but we also got to go swimming (without floaties- yay!). And we got to attend Jayden’s 6th birthday party at the Young Chefs Academy, which Ben loved! The kids got to make their own pizzas and decorate chefs hats. :)

Then came the last day of school at MDO. The morning started with Ben losing his very first tooth- wow! Then we got to enjoy the wonderful program the kiddos put on. And then we headed to the park for a picnic lunch and to play. What a great day!

We got treated to lunch and gifts for the baby by Nathan’s co-workers at a baby shower they threw for us. We spent an evening at the gazebo enjoying “Cars” at the new Movies in the Park events. We threw an awesome party for Shutter-Happy’s 4th anniversary. And we spent a great day at Fiesta Texas with our friends Madison, Morgan, and Landon.

And then my doctor tells me she’s not letting me go to my due date since they are worried about Evan’s size. I’ll be induced on the 10th!!!! Can’t wait!
