We went from the usual busy to overwhelmed so quickly! On top of the usuals, the remodeling work began and business picked up…
After my last article we had a visit from Larry and Debbie one weekend and got to visit with them. I attended the Texas Professional Photographers of America’s annual summer conference. In addition to attending the usual speakers, I also entered the print competition for the first time. I walked away with three of my four prints earning the “Honor of Exhibition” and scoring nicely. During the time I was in Kerrville, Nathan and Ben drove out to join me to attend the bar-b-q at the farm one night and the awards dinner a second night. Ben even won a ribbon for participating in the kids’ print competition. We attended Nikolaj’s fourth birthday party, complete with a morning filled with trains. We had a wonderful 4th of July evening with the Luebke family, sparklers, and the fireworks display. Our family spent a morning out at the Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, and had a great time at the butterfly house and in the fields of flowers. And Ben and Nathan just got back from a trip out to the mountains.
As far as the construction goes, we are in week three. The old garage door is out and is replaced with a wall, a door, and a bay window. This week the interior is being spruced up. And then everything will be painted. I may be able to move the office over by Monday.
And taking a look at the business, we have gotten in quite a number of calls for sessions lately. Yay! We are also busy getting together all the plans for the open house and designing the invitations for it. And I just found out that I was voted (again!) one of the top three photographers in Kendall county in The Boerne Star’s Best of the Best contest. Double-yay!
