Since my last article, we have been so busy with fun summer stuff and pre-remodeling work!
Ben and I enjoyed a great morning at the zoo with Marli and Robert. My mom and I attended Marli’s PartyLite party, to learn about the company and get our hands on some neat items. Ben and I enjoyed a fantastic day at Fiesta Texas, with Ben being able to ride all kinds of new rides because he is now 42 inches tall! We had a wonderful time at the family reunion- played frisbee, t-ball, bingo, went swimming, and went to a Rangers game. Ben and Morgan attended Vacation Bible School at our church, were very blessed to be in the same “tribe” with Ms. Traci, and had a great time! To finish off the fun week of VBS, Ben and I made a trip to the Witte Museum to explore their dinosaur exhibit and the treehouse. And this weekend was spent getting ready for our remodeling work to begin and enjoying Father’s Day and Berges Fest…
We spent some time at Home Depot choosing fixtures, doors, and windows. And then we spent a couple of hours completely cleaning out the garage. We are ready! Ben presented Nathan with a homemade Father’s Day card, a wind vane for his workshop, and the promise of painting the workshop as soon as we dry out from the rain. And the best part of the weekend- Berges Fest! Saturday we attended the parade, the carnival, and a concert. I do believe Ben grinned from ear to ear almost the whole day! But Sunday really put the icing on the cake- Ben won first place in the li’l tractor races! And not only did he beat all the kids’ times in his age group, but he also had a faster time than the kids ages 7 to 11! He was really excited that he won, but his jaw completely dropped when he found out he got the “tractor” bike home as his grand prize! Wow!
