Archive for November, 2006

D2X_15972The rest of October and November were packed with excitement! Nathan flew to Colorado for a week-long conference. Paula, Erica, and I took the kids out to the Medina Apple Orchard for a fun day of hay rides, petting animals, scarecrow-making, and caramel apple-eating! Then Papa Larry and Grandmom Debbie came into town just in time for Halloween. We all took our little fire-breathing dragon to the church’s Halloween event and then around the neighborhood for some great trick-or-treating. We received and planted our free big tooth maple tree from the Boerne Native Plant Society. Ben, Nathan, and Daisy enjoyed a day of hiking and exploring out at Lost Maples. And we just got back from a wonderful Thanksgiving up in Ft. Worth with the Anderson clan. Ben and Jayden had such a blast sledding down the hill in a box (aka “Texas sled”) and down the driveway in Papa’s wagon!

We got Ben enrolled in gymnastics again. This year he’s too big for the moms and tots class and has been placed in the older kids class. Parents aren’t involved at all, and Coach Kari is the boss- he’s doing really well! Ben’s also busy with the usual- storytime, music class, playdates, Home Depot’s workshop, and school. What a busy little boy he is!

And Nathan and I? It’s hectic! Between Nathan’s work schedule, my numerous portrait appointments, our errands, the usual laundry, housework, and yardwork, there is little time for ouselves. But we’re making it a point to start in on our long list of projects for the house. First step- Nathan is having his shed built on Friday so he can start moving out of the garage (my future studio!). Hooray!
