D2X_6660_001Boy has our schedule been filled with fun trips lately! We spent a day at Fiesta Texas with Grandmom and Daddy. There was no slowing Ben down- he recalled exactly which rides we rode last year, and we found that this year he could also ride the bumper cards (those were a hit!). We made a trip to the zoo with friend Mary, filled with fun with the animals and a train ride. We then headed to Palmetto State Park for a camping trip with some of Nathan’s co-workers. Ben had the best time, getting to enjoy the other kids, bike rides, the playgrounds, and getting to paddle a canoe with Daddy. Then it was off to Fiesta Texas one more time with friends Morgan and Madison. And we just got back from a trip to the beach with Grandmom and Papa. We were able to spend several hours enjoying the sand and sea, spent a little time at the pool, walked along the jetties, and tooted around town in a golf cart we rented. And we even got to meet up with my grandparents for a visit before heading back home.

In addition to the trips, Nathan and I were also able to enjoy a whole evening out, complete with dinner and entertainment while Ben stayed at church for a parents’ night out event. We all enjoyed attending the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center’s Rubber Ducky Race for Life and cheering our adopted rubber duckies on as they raced. While none of our ducks won, it was a wonderful cause to support, it was great fun, and it was quite a sight to see. Then the boys treated me to a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner, even bought me a pair of gardening clogs I was so desperately needing after realizing all the yard work I’m going to have to do this year. Then Ben and I attended a special bike-themed storytime, with the kids getting to race their bikes around the gazebo before stories and ice cream.

The summer has just started, and I’m wondering- can it get any better?
