D2X_12595While the last few months have been hectic with a visit from Jenny, a trip to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving, attending and photographing every weekend of the Hill Country Christmas event, helping HCWIB participate in the Christmas parade, helping Mary celebrate her second birthday, Nathan and I attending HCWIB’s Christmas party, I attending the Chamber’s Christmas luncheon, Ben starting to attend Home Depot’s kids carpentry time and gymnastics again for the winter semester, we were able to slow down and enjoy a nice holiday.

A few days before Christmas, we had all of Ben’s friends over for a playdate, cookie decorating, and a gift exchange. Despite having six toddlers and two babies here, the kids played together beautifully and we were truly able to enjoy the afternoon. We spent a wonderful Christmas Eve at my grandparents’ house with the Bierstedt family. The day was filled with lots of visiting with relatives, eating Grandma’s yummy cooking, and watching the kids play with their new toys. And then, since quite a few people were under the weather, we had a very quiet and relaxing Christmas Day here at our house with just our parents and Jenny. Us ladies were able to spend most of the time catching up on stories and enjoying each others’ company while the guys cooked lunch.

Looking back at 2005, it seems like quite a blur. While it went too quickly and some memories are starting to fade, we know it was a fun, joyous, and blessed year. We can only hope that 2006 will bring us more wonderful memories and unexpected surprises. And we wish you all the best. Merry Christmas! May 2006 be a year of many celebrations for you!
