DSC_5208Feeling drained at the end of every day and wondering where the weekend went every Sunday night sure seems to be the norm these days. For me, I know it’s because I take on so much more than just being a stay-at-home mom. And for Nathan, it’s the constantly growing, never-ending to-do list that he’s always trying to keep up with. We’re exhausted! Luckily, Ben has his youth on his side. And even luckier for him, he gets to nap every day.

In the days since my last article, we have done our usual mix of playdates, storytimes, errands, and church. We also got caught up in trips to Fiesta Texas and Sea World, Kevin and Daniella’s wedding, three Easter egg hunts, spending Easter Day at my grandparents’, concerts at the Cibolo Nature Center, an art day at the CNC, a tractor show at the Ag Center, and the Volunteer Fire Department’s catfish fry. We walked in our second Race for the Cure and raised $250 for breast cancer research. I was also able to plan and pull off a birthday bar-b-q for Nathan’s 30th, with most of his co-workers and our friends and family attending. And as most of you know, I just finished an intense and successful two weeks of potty-training Ben (with 12 fantastic days of wearing nothing but underwear!). But knowing just how tired I was from all that, I was finally treated well and was able to relax this weekend for Mother’s Day- I got to sleep late both days and Nathan and Ben made me my favorite breakfast this morning- pumpkin pancakes.

Business is great. I’ve had several photo shoots lately in the bluebonnets and for Mother’s Day and have photographed lots of events for clients and for The Boerne Star. I’ve had several people loving and buying up the lockets I’m now selling. And since I felt like the demand was there, I just finished designing and printing my first brochure. What a great first year in business! And to further my learning, I’ve just enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography. I will begin my lessons within weeks- I’m so excited! And I’ve just taken on new duties with the Hill Country Women in Business. As if I didn’t already have enough on my plate, I volunteered to help and have been put in charge of the group’s photography, publicity, and website.
